As in, not open. The waterfront path leading from Pier 70, two blocks west of the Bent,
to Myrtle Edwards Park, is closed until April 17th to enable new walking and bicycle paths to be constructed around the new pocket beach. The sidewalk and pavement at the end of the path are gone - torn up, dug out, not there.
Naturally, this doesn't stop runners and bikers from going over fences, around signs, and through the construction zone. We watch them every evening after the workers are gone. Most likely, they have special passes exempting them from such restrictions. Here at the Belltown Bent, we have neighbors with special passes. They don't have to break down their cardboard boxes, or wait for the garage gate to close behind them.

well put.
